10 Project Civil Engineer
Job Description
Plan, design, and furnish interiors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. The job also includes full supervision on the construction of different sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
• Direct construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.
• Direct or participate in surveying to layout installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
• Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals.
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction.
Skills
• Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of professional, paraprofessional, and clerical personnel responsible for a major phase of an engineering program; directs a staff engaged in the design, preparation of drawings, plans, specifications, and estimates for a variety of public works projects or contracts.
• Directs the inspection of construction work performed under contracts, including the interpretation and revision of plans and specifications, the testing of construction materials, and the maintenance of related records and reports.
• Directs regulatory monitoring programs to ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
• Prepares and administers section budget by compiling necessary data and justification for changes.
